My Family And Some Photo Memes

Owen is coming to Chatham today I can’t wait to see him. He is going to help us change the livingroom furniture around and get the Christmas decorations down from the attic. Wow can you believe it’s that time of year again. It’s exciting, I love Christmas. I am loving living in Chatham (except for the part about not seeing Owen everyday), I love life and I love my Saviour whose birth we celebrate at Christmastime.

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Amberley & Brittany both had to go to the hospital this past week. One to emergency for an infection the other for a bunch of tests. Even though they are grown ups and have families of their own I just hate to see them suffering. I just love them so much I still want to protect them from harm and sadness, once a mom always a mom.

Sydney is beautiful, and thriving. Having a girl in the family means pink and dolls, frills and tea parties. I am going to enjoy every step of the way while also enjoying the ruff and tumble of the boys, the trains, Superman, and Wolverineman and all the boy stuff. Isn’t it fun having little ones in your life.

This is my sister Cathy, holding her great niece Sydney with her great nephew Ethan close by, doesn’t he look happy.

This week I had Rain for 2 nights which was fun he is such a good boy and so smart. On the second day I had him, I picked up Ethan & Gavin took them to McDonalds for some ice cream and playtime in the play area, cousin time. Then we headed back home, and made supper for them after I made popcorn and put it in 3 individual popcorn bags for them and watched a movie together. After the movie Perry came to get Ethan & Gavin. What a wonderful time with those little guys. I am so blessed.

For some reason they decided to take their shirts off, such silly and cute little guys.

I am planning a cookie baking day for next month, with mom, Cathy & Penny. Hopefully we all have that day off and get lots of baking done.

Some memes for today.

Photoshop Elements

This is the original picture

This is the revised one, using Photoshop Elements.
This program is very different than the ones I am used to. I kind of like this effect, don't ask me how I did it, because I don't know.

Chatham Living

Life is sweet. I am loving living in Chatham.

The only thing that I don’t really like is that there are very few photo opportunities here.  In Sarnia there is the waterfront, Canatara Park, the animal farm, and several conservation areas. Here there is a much smaller park, no waterfront unless I drive 30 minutes away. There is an old downtown with old buildings and a cemetery that has old buildings and an older bridge.

Owen celebrated his 18th birthday on the 4th. Wow my baby is a man now.

Oct. 16, 2009 (40a)

We are still waiting for the baby. The due date is Sat.

September Happenings

Lots of things have been going on in this old world of ours and I missed posting on the actual days so I will try to make it up now.

First there was the Sept. 11. A day we should never forget.

Then there was grandparents day, on Sept. 13, so here is to you grandma & grandpa Weston & Stull.

Last week while I was cutting the lawn the lawnmower quit working. So when I mentioned this to my friends at church, Perry arrived the next day with one and he even put gas in it. God is such a good provider. Thanks Perry
Also my vacuum stopped working this week. I am changing furniture around in the living room this week and I like to vacuum the carpet before I place the furniture. So I might have to borrow Amberley's vacuum for a day.

Tomorrow I am going to London to see Brittany & Rain. We are going to go out for lunch and then she is going to show me the rooms she will be using for her wedding next year. She has booked the Sheraton for it. I can't believe it is only a year away, she has been planning for so long.

Both of my girls are homeschooling their children this year. I have seen the results of homeschooling with Ethan & Gavin. Their reading abilities are wonderful and Gavin (4 yrs old) loves math. And when I talked on the phone yesterday with Rain he said he liked going to school at home. I asked him if mommy was a good teacher and he said "yes", so cute.

Owen surprised me yesterday and came to Chatham for a visit. We ended up going to Amberley's for supper and a game of Settlers.

I watched the movie "The Man In The Iron Mask" last week. I didn't think I would enjoy it, but it was actually very good. It starred Leonardo DeCaprio in the leading role. His acting was very good.
Did you know there was a real man in the mask, only the mask was velvet. Read about him here.

Some pictures I took the other day at C.M. Wilson Conservation Area.

I hope you all (how is that for optimism) have a wonderful day.

Rest In Peace, Desi

My 100th Post

This is my 100th post since Oct. 2007, it has taken almost 2 years to reach this many posts. I will try to do better. From now on most of my posts will consist of mainly pictures or videos, with very little words. That’s not to say there won’t be the occasional post to brag about my kids, or my grandchildren. Anyway to get me started on the picture post’s I have decided to enter the “Skywatch Friday’s” group. There are people on here from all over the world, and it's all about our sky. So without further ado here is my picture, taken last week at Ipperwash Beach, which is on Lake Huron in Southern Ontario.

Busy, Busy, Busy

I thought I would try Windows Live Writer, I read about it on a couple of blogs. So why not try it, so far so good.

I have been busy, still trying to unpack and organize at the same time.

Owen came to visit me yesterday it was so nice to see him. I really miss seeing him every day.

Ethan & Gavin spent the night here. I picked them up yesterday and brought them over for supper. Then we went for a walk and then watched “The Aristocats”. It was cute. Ethan recognized some of the voices from Disney’s “Robin Hood”. They went to bed pretty good, but oh my they were up early. I taught them how to play UNO and they had fun. Then off to McDonalds for lunch and playtime in the play area. Gavin wasn’t feeling very good and after about 10 minutes playing he wanted to go home.

Last night after Ethan & Gavin went to sleep, Amberley came over to play Settlers. Perry was in Cambridge for work. Owen won a game and Amberley won the last one.

We had a huge thunderstorm this afternoon. Unfortunately I missed most of it because I was napping (I was up very early with the boys.).

I went to renew my license sticker today, but found I out I need to have an emission test done on my car first. My licence was to be renewed last month, but I totally forgot about it. So I am praying that I won’t get pulled over tomorrow.

Brittany and Ryan picked out their engagement picture. I am glad I took one that they both liked. Before you know it the wedding will be upon us.

It was 2 months ago today that I moved to Chatham, and I am so glad I made the move. Other than not seeing Owen everyday and working less hours I am truly loving it here. I also miss my co-workers from the Sarnia store, but I still keep in touch with a lot of them on facebook.

Well have a good day everyone.

These are some random pictures I have taken at some point in time:

Saturday

On Sat. I took engagement pictures for Brittany & Ryan. I got some nice ones, but I have a lot to learn. Brittany looked real pretty and I wish I could bottle Ryan's energy I would be rich. Rain was a cutie pie, just saying. The weather was beautiful, it was a nice place to go. Ryan took us to parts that if he weren't there we would not of gone. He knew them from when he was a kid he used to go there all the time, it was only about 10 minutes from his house. I will post some of the family ones, but not of Brittany & Ryan until she picks the one she wants.

I watched 2 movies Sat. night. I enjoyed them both.
The first one was "The Duchess" starring Keira Knightly and Ralph Fiennes. It is based on a true story. I don't normally watch this kind of movie, but I like history, what can I say.

Charles Grey (he was the lover) became Prime Minister of England in 1830. He was known as Earl Grey and the tea is named after him. And Georgiana (the main character) was a distant relative to Princess Diana.
I just love connecting things together.

The second movie I watched was "Going My Way" with Bing Crosby.
I enjoyed this one very much. The sequel to this is "The Bells Of St. Mary's".
I have seen bits and pieces of this movie but until tonight I have never seen the whole movie. I am glad I watched it.

One of the kids in this movie was Carl Switzer. Do you know what he is famous for. He was Alfalfa in the "Our Gang" series. Remember he had a thing for Darla. This one is for you Amberley, you know the picture of Freckle-Faced Haines in "White Christmas" that is Switzer's picture.

How Far Can $84 Go

Well this week my paycheque was only $84. Because I was only scheduled for 8 hours. This week I am scheduled 9 and next week I am scheduled 10. So it is slowly moving up, I am used to at least 24. Needless to say it has been a challenge to take care of obligations and gas and food. But you know what, I am looking at all this in a positive way. I am saying I got paid, even though it is a small amount it is better than nothing. I am also looking at it as a challenge to see how I can stretch that amount.
I am going to try to not spend any money if at all possible. I have enough gas to last for the rest of the week. And the meals I make are going to be made using only what is the pantry or freezer. I am going to make an inventory of what's in the freezer and pantry and then I am going to plan my meals with these ingredients in mind. It is a challenge I am looking forward to.
When I was married the last 8 years or so I didn't really have to worry about money. If we needed something (I am not talking anything big here like furniture or things like that) I just simply went out and bought it. I will admit it I was spoiled that way. Now that I have to really watch my spending it made me realize how lucky I was. But it can be done and I am looking forward to seeing what I am able to do with what I have. Paul say's:
"I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances." Philippians 4:11
and the Bible also says:
"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5
And I am very content.
Today I went to Rock Glen, near Arkona to take engagement pictures of Brittany and Ryan.
So I had to buy gas which cost $20.00 Rock Glen is 90 minutes away. But the good news is I have a tad more gas than when I started and that will last until payday which is Thursday.
The admission to the park was $3.50. And then I bought some groceries we needed, such as milk, bread, laundry soap, Cheerios (one of the cheapest cereals and it is good) and some Canola Oil so that was
$17. 54 which leaves me with around $22.00 to last until Wed. night.
I know that I am getting help from God, in many different ways. He won't forsake us (me).
There are lots of blogs and websites to help. One of those blogs is :
Eat At Home Cooks.
I am going to be like the train that could, I know I can, I know I can.
This is going to be a challenging week but it is also going to be fun.

Getting Caught Up

It's been a long time since I posted last, I have been very busy. I have moved from Sarnia to Chatham. I have started at a different store, same company just in a different city. Last week I went to Vancouver, Washington, to see friends and do some church things. I had a wonderful time, I got to spend time with my friends and get to know some people better. I also enjoyed a day trip up along the Oregon Coast. The plane rides both ways went well also. As much as I enjoyed going away I was glad to get home. My nephew Logan is staying with us for a week. My car had another flat tire, hopefully it can be repaired so I don't have to buy a new one.

I haven't taken many pictures lately, hopefully that will change very soon.
